AuthorSure on StudioPress Genesis Child Themes

Genesis child themes add an author box to the foot of each post with the rel=”author” link. It can also show author details on the author page however this just repeats the same author box. Instead do not add the Genesis Author Box and instead we suggest you use the extended bio.

This AuthorSure settings for Genesis are:

Author Post Settings: Byline – default settings

Author Page Settings: Maybe use bio=extended or bio=none rather than repeat the author box on the author page

Advanced Settings: use default settings

    Hi guys,

I’m using this plugin on genesis, with the simple local avatars plugin, without any of the Google+ integration. It’s displaying fine after-post and on author archive, but with the Authors Page which I setup with the shortcode, the custom uploaded avatar does not display. It sticks with the default avatar set in WordPress “Discussion” settings.

Any ideas? I can mail you the link.

Hi Michael, The “byline” is provided by your WordPress theme, not by AuthorSure. You could use the “AuthorBox” method and make sure the “Hide On Pages” checkbox is cleared.

      Hi Graeme,

I am using the “AuthorBox” rather then the “byline” method. The rel=author links the author box to my author page. And then my author page has the rel=me link to Google

Hi, this is a followup to the comment I just posted. I realized why my author box isn’t working. It’s display my username as the author, rather than my nickname.

So my box says “Hi, I’m Graeme”, but the rel=”author” link is http://mywebsitename.com/author/myusername rather than my name or my google+ profile.

Is this going to cause problems for google authorship?

I m using a child of the Genesis theme, authorsure, and the author box. When I click on my name it the author box it returns a 404 error. The same thing happens when I click on my name at he top of my post. I have my about me info page (who’s that girl?) linked on authorsure. How do I fix the 404? Thx.

I am still getting the 404 even after making the author archive active in my Yoast SEO plugin. Anything else I can look at? The Google structured data tool shows everything on that end is fine. Thx
